Jim Hasten, DDS.

My name is Jim. I am one of the dentists in the office. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan (but please don't hold that against me). I was never good at sports so as a kid I specialized in TV and schoolwork. I worked as a janitor while going to Wayne State for undergrad and the University of Michigan for my dental work. There wasn't a lot of free time in my life which would explain how I ended up married to a fellow dental student.

Kathi and I moved to Arizona in 1982 and live in beautiful, fashionable Apache Junction. We have four dogs and two cats and sometimes our friends worry that we treat them too much like humans. Check out some of their holiday pictures here. I watch more movies than TV shows now and particularly enjoy musical theater. In fact, I take great pride in abusing the staff each Wednesday by playing show music all day.

Kathi Chivari, DDS.

I'm Kathi. I was born and raised in St. Clair Shores, Michigan which is just north of Detroit. I went to Wayne State University and became an Occupational Therapist. A few years later I returned to school and got my DDS. from the University of Michigan. It was there that I met the light of my life and my reason for being, my handsome husband (and the typist for these pages). We moved to Arizona in 1982 and opened a practice together that year. My mother moved to Arizona in 1999 so we get to see each other often. We have numerous dogs and cats and for fun I like to read, sew and putter around the house. For the record, I tolerate my husband's Wednesday music marathons, his weekend action movies and his addiction to "Mystery Science Theater 3000".

Hi, my name is Janet.  I am the office manager.  I take care of the financial department and the insurance.  I was born and raised in Mesa; what you might call an original desert rat.  I am married and have two daughters and two stepdaughters.  I also have three grandchildren with another one due in September.  My favorite sport is baseball and I love to watch the Diamondbacks.  I also like to listen to country music and ditch work each year to go to "Country Thunder".  (Don't tell the boss).

My name is Pamela.  I'm the front office reception manager.  I greet patients and verify their insurance benefits.  I was born and raised in Cape Cod, Mass. and moved to Arizona in 1984.  I have two wonderful children...a boy and girl.  I miss the ocean, deep sea fishing, autumn foliage and most of all, my family.  However, I make up for it by traveling back home at least once a year...perhaps more than my bosses like.  (Nah, we don't mind).  In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, swimming, traveling, dancing, eating and singing karaoke.

(Fun thing to do...ask Pamela to say yard or car...that accent is a laugh riot!)

Hi. My name is Peggy.  I am a dental hygienist and I'm the new kid on the block at the office.  I was a dental assistant for 15 years before becoming a hygienist.  What can I say...I'm addicted to dentistry.  I have been in Arizona for 30 years and have been married for 13 years.  My husband and I have two sons:  Dillon who is 11 and Michael who is 2.  We also have two dogs and a cat.  My free time is spent camping, jet skiing and scrap booking.  I am very excited to be part of such a wonderful dental team.   Not only do I get to meet many new and exciting people, I am also expanding my previously non-existent knowledge about show tunes on Wednesdays!  (Way to suck up, Peggy!)

My name is Lesilie. I am a dental hygienist and have been for the past fourteen years. I have a bachelor's and a master's degree. You could say I really enjoyed my school years. I moved to Arizona twelve years ago after having grown up in the southern part of the country. I have three cats and a dog and I enjoy all manner of outdoor activities (except cleaning up after my dog in the yard).

I'm Ellen. I was born in California and raised in Mesa, Arizona. I graduated from Phoenix College and have worked as a dental assistant before continuing my education and becoming a hygienist. My husband and I keep ourselves busy on the home front with our seven children. I have also been involved in church organizations and Cub Scouts. I like to read when I get the chance, especially self-improvement and motivational books. Someday, when I get a "breather", I'd like to do more artwork.

Hi. My name is Eloisa and I haven't given my good looking boss a biography yet so he probably is making it up right now. Although I'm American, I spent a good portion of my life in another country...France or something. Anyway, I have a strong accent that might be french. Who knows. I am married and probably have kids because Dr. Hasten overheard me mention them at some point. Did I mention how ruggedly handsome my boss is? Anyway, once I read this I will probably give Dr. Hasten a real paragraph about myself. Until then...... "Hasta la vista, Baby!"

My name is Devon Booze and I am the Financial Secretary for the office.  I was born in Dover, Delaware but have lived all over the place (Airforce brat).  I have lived in Arizona since 1993.  I graduated in 1996 from Highland High School. I am married to my husband, Gabriel, who graduated from Highland also.  We have 2 girls together, Azalea and Olivia and I have a stepson, Victor.  We have two dogs, Bruce and Belle and a bunch of no name fish.

Hi, I'm Connie.  As Dr. Chivari's assistant, I'm the newest member of the team here.  I started in the summer of 2011.  I must say the staff and patients are great to work with; I enjoy working here very much.  A little bit about myself.  Originally I'm from the midwest.  I moved here three years ago with my husband.  We both love the outdoors and that is what brought us here.  I enjoy hiking, biking, reading and yoga.  Although we love it here we do miss family and friends.
